Wonderful Weekend

This weekend is going to be one of the best weekends all all semester due to a very dear friend/adopted fraternity father coming to town. My weekend actually started last night as he took myself and 20 other SigEps out to dinner at Outback Steakhouse. He is a SigEp alumni and teaches at Fort Hays. I love it when he comes into town because we always have a great time.

The shockers also kicked off their first weekend of home baseball games today. The shocker baseball season is one of my favorite times of the year. I absolutely love chilling out on the hill and watching the games, today was no exception. With the victory today the shockers improve their record to 3-1. They play again tomorrow at 2 and Sunday at 1.

With the visitation of my dear friend and the start of baseball season, this weekend will easily be the best of the semester.

Exciting New Job

So last week I started my new job as a personal trainer at the YMCA. So far I have had a lot of fun even though I am just shadowing as my training. I love helping others and this job will give me an excuse to work out. So far everyone seems really nice and very helpful when I ask questions. The one and only downside to my job is the commute. I live on the east side and the branch I work at is the North West Branch. Nearly 35 minutes when driving on the empty roads at 5 am. All is well though; I will trade a steady paycheck for a long commute any day. This is all for now. Let me know if any of you actually workout at the NW Branch, maybe during my break I can talk to you or answer any questions you might have about WSU.

Shocker Leadership Conference

On March 4, WSU is hosting a leadership conference for anyone in high school. This a great way to really inform yourself on how to be a leader not only in your classroom but in your community as well. I attended the conference last year and was just amazed at some of the information taught. This is on a Wednesday from 8:30 to 2, so not only will you be able to sleep in an extra half hour but you also will have an excuse to miss school for the day. The cost is $10 and registration is tomorrow (sorry for the short notice). You can register online at http://admissions.wichita.edu/events/sas/sasleadership.asp.

I was actually on the planning commitee this year so, not only will you have an opportunity to learn very valuable information but you will also have a chance to meet me. How exciting!! I hope to see everyone who reads these blogs to be there. It is definitely an opportunity you do not want to miss.

Hope to see you all at the conference
